My son loves coin appams or coin pancakes. The size is the key - a bite sized portion that fits in little hands and goes into their mouths in a gulp or two. My son readily eats tiny food portions. The small size somehow makes it more appealing and special.
I make him tiny dosas, buns, idlis and chappaties. I often make these for his evening snack and school dabba. It can be made in less than 10 minutes.
Coin Appam RecipeI make him tiny dosas, buns, idlis and chappaties. I often make these for his evening snack and school dabba. It can be made in less than 10 minutes.
Ingredients
Egg - 1
Wholewheat flour - 2 tbsp ( You could use any flour - Oats, Ragi or Multigrain flour)
Honey - 1 to 2 tbsp
Ghee - A few drops (optional)
Method
Add the flour, honey and ghee to the egg. Stir with a spoon to make the batter smooth. Heat a lightly greased tava. Turn the heat down to avoid burning the pancakes, they get done very quickly. Take a teaspoon and drop spoonfuls of the batter on the tava. The pancakes are done when they are light brown. Cook them on both sides. Cool and enjoy.
